Mayan Ruin Vacation – Just steps away from the lodge are the Mayan ruins of Nim Li Punit (Big Hat) a small but significant site with many carved monuments including the second largest in the Maya World. Nearby Lubanntun (Place of Fallen Stones), was a major trading center for the region and in ancient time produced large quantities of Cacao (chocolate). Evidence of the ancient Maya has also been found in the area’s caves.

Belize Birds and Wildlife – Explore Boden Creek Reserve’s miles of nature trails on foot, by mountain bike, or electric safari cart. This 13,000 acre reserve is a haven for wildlife. Over 400 species of birds have been recorded, tapir and other mammals are in abundance, and the largest concentration of jaguar can be found within the Golden Stream watershed. Also visit Ballum Na’s jaguar enclosure and our Wildlife Rescue Center.

Belize wildlife – “The House of the Jaguar” is home to two male jaguars, Bosch and Xupi, who are brothers and were born in captivity.
