8 Day/7 Night Itinerary
Your short journey begins in the Maya Mountains with 2 nights at Indian Creek Lodge or Ballam Na Lodge ; then cruises down Golden Stream through the heart of the untouched lowland forest to Jungle Camp Lodge for 2 nights suspended 18 feet above the river; and finally winds up in the turquoise Caribbean Sea for an exotic island experience with 3 nights in lavish African safari tents on Moho Cay Lodge .
Day 1 - Belize City - Indian Creek Lodge (Ballam Na option available for additional cost)
- Explore the Boden Creek Ecological Reserve teeming with wildlife by electric cart, mountain bike or on foot. Or kayak the nearby streams and lagoons.
- Sit amongst the morpho blue butterflies and tropical birds listening to the howler monkeys in the distance overlooking freshwater lagoons and Maya Mountain foothills.
- Enjoy a gourmet 5 course dinner with attentive table service
- Sink into the deep-pillowed chairs and sumptuous beds in your Indian Creek Cabanas with private veranda and view of the forest
Day 2 - Maya Past & Present of Southern Belize (Indian Creek)
- Spend a full day touring archaeological sites, visiting modern Maya villages and exploring caves. Tour includes Nim Li Punit, Lubanntun and Blue Creek Cave with a cool afternoon swim and tour of an ecological reserve run by the local Maya.
Day 3 - Wildlife Center/Golden Stream/Jungle Camp
- Morning guided tours of Ballam Na Jaguar Reserve and the Wildlife Rescue Center.
- Take a mountain bike ride or nature walk on one of our many trails in the area.
- Afternoon departure for Jungle Camp, cruise with your Maya Guide down Golden Stream deep into the jungle observing Belize’s exotic wildlife and birds.
- Feel miles from civilization – until you’re greeted with a champagne cocktail and ice cold towel by a man in a tuxedo.
- Kayak or canoe through pristine jungle inaccessible by land.
- Enjoy the views suspended above the river overlooking 13,500 acres of tropical lowland forest.
Day 4 - Jungle Tour (Jungle Camp)
- Take an early morning or late afternoon foot safari
- Canoe the Golden Stream and side creeks looking for birds and wildlife with local Maya bush guides.
- View the forest tree tops from our one of a kind Canopy Platform.
- Sit back and dine on your delicious 6-course dinner served by waiters in black tie and illuminated by hurricane lantern.
- Discover the jungle that never sleeps with a guided Spotlight Nocturnal River tour in an electric safari boat.
Day 5 - Jungle Camp to Moho Cay Lodge
- Morning cruise by electric boat to the coast enjoying the wildlife along the way. Transfer to our marine boat for the half-hour ride out to Moho Cay Lodge.
- Enjoy a tropical lunch and relax on this beautiful island paradise.
- Snorkel the Belize Barrier Reef, swim in the warm sea, kayak around sheltered coves, or simply laze on your private beach.
- Dine in our restaurant with sunset views or on your own veranda served by your private waiter
Day 6 - Port Honduras Marine Reserve & Snake Cays
- More relaxing on this beautiful island paradise
- Optional guided tours of Port Honduras Marine Reserve, Payne’s Creek National Park, Ycacos Lagoon, Wild Cane Cay, Seven Hills and Middle River
- Explore the many cays and mangrove coastline where the elusive manatee can sometimes be spotted, great birding, watch for Morlet's crocodile and sea rays.
- Other activities include sea kayaking and snorkeling
Day 7 - Sapodilla Cays Marine Reserve
- More relaxing on this beautiful island paradise
- Optional full day excursion to the southern tip of outer barrier reef includes some of the best snorkeling in Belize. Morning snorkeling off of Lime and Nicholas Cays. Beach barbecue lunch. After lunch, tour of marine cay habitat and then head back to the lodge with a stop at the Seal Cays for some more great snorkeling.
Day 8 - Moho Cay Lodge/Belize City International Airport
- Depart in the morning by our marine boats for the 20 minute trip to Punta Gorda. Board the Tropic Air flight to Belize City International Airport and the flight home or on to another destination in Belize.
Rates are per person, per night, based on double occupancy and in US $. Rates include accommodation, all meals, full day excursions, all taxes, entrance fees, local land and marine transfers and guides.
